That’s it. The end of an era. I am no longer the parent of an elementary schooler. Both of my kids are now in middle school. How am I old enough for that to have happened… don’t answer that.      Stella’s ceremony was bitter sweet. She and her besties were having SO much fun, dancing and singing, proudly walking across the stage to receive their diplomas. Yes, when you leave elementary school, you now get a diploma. I loved watching them, but at the same time, I cannot believe how fast it is all going. I remember her first day of kindergarten like it was yesterday. They worked so hard this year, preparing for their transition to middle school, and that deserves a party. Luckily our weather is perfect for a party outdoors; the last time these girls got together at our house, I was finding sprinkles and glitter for weeks. Tween girls can be CRAZY. Summer parties are the best, and I could not wait to put it all together.

Peonies in mason jars were a must for the tables, although once the girls saw the cotton candy,

I’m sure they didn’t even notice the flowers, but I knew, and I loved them. Bright cheerful colors make a party POP. Also on the menu: mini chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches {rolled in sprinkles of course}, watermelon {on a stick}, lemonade {had to be pink}, veggies and hummus {to counteract all that sugar}.

Summer parties should be easy breezy, and that is where Dixie Ultra Moments® Tableware comes in handy.  I want to enjoy this moment with my daughter and her friends. I don’t have to worry about broken plates and glasses, and hello… clean-up time is a snap. NO dishes = happy momma.  Dixie Ultra Moments® plates are unique 8-sided plates built with a deep rim, durable construction and Soak Proof Shield®, and that means they’re strong enough to hold up to any party, and like I said, these girls can get WILD. The food also was easy. I used pre-made cookies for the ice cream sandwiches, and made them the day ahead. Cut the watermelon ahead of time, and for easy eating, I added a Popsicle stick into each wedge {washi tape makes for a decorative stick as well}. Veggies and dip are always a hit, and super easy to get together last minute.

The cotton candy, well that is not as easy, but it sure is fun, and matched our color theme, so it had to be done. Stella was a great helper with the candy making… big surprise there. Where there is sugar, there you will find Stella. I could not believe how everything, even the  Dixie Ultra Moments® Tableware colors, matched our flowers/jars. It was gorgeous. Yes, paper plates can be gorgeous, and with Dixie Ultra Moments® Tableware you can “Celebrate with Style and Strength™.”   It was a tween girls party paradise.

Now here’s hoping I can survive the summer.
