I LOVE Halloween!

We  OVERdecorate, eat WAY too much candy, and watch a few too many scary movies, but it is just SO much fun.

This year I was worried  because the kids are getting older. There was even talk of NO trick-or-treating

{the horror}

Crisis averted; one trip to the Halloween store and the kids went CRAZY.

We decorated even bigger this year, and forget about “booing” just one or two of the neighbors.

The kids and I made these adorable Broom treat bags {found here at Lolly Jane} filled them to the brim with our favorite candies, and waited excitedly for dark.

We LITTERED Folsom with Witch Brooms, and it was SO much fun creeping silently from door to door so as not to get caught.

But the fun did not end there; once at home we enjoyed a “wormy”beverage and some snickersdoodle bars.

worms in soda

“Snickers”doodle Cookie Bars

  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cup flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • cinnamon/sugar {2 tsp sugar mixed with 1/2tsp cinnamon}
  • 8 miniature snickers bars

  • cream together the eggs, butter, and sugar
  • add vanilla
  • in a separate bowl combine the flour, corn starch, baking powder, and salt
  • add to the egg/butter mixture
  • spread into an 8x8 pan lined with foil or parchment
  • sprinkle on the cinnamon and sugar
  • press the snickers into the dough {evenly spaced}
  • bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes
  • **I prefer my cookies to be a bit underdone, you may want to bake an additional 5 or so minutes
  • cool completely before cutting into bars

Our “wormy ” dink was simply 7-Up with ice cubes made of Hawaiian Punch  {we froze gummy worms in the cubes}
