I don’t like to waste things, Halloween pumpkins included.

Of course we always roast the seeds, but the last few years I have been using the entire pumpkin for puree.

Canned puree is good, and definitely convenient,but homemade is easy to do and like most things, MUCH better than its canned counterpart.

Perfect Pumpkin Puree

Ingredients

  • pumpkin {small sugar pumpkins work the best}
  • that's all you need

Instructions

  • pre-heat the oven to 350
  • quarter the pumpkin
  • roast on a baking sheet for about 45 minutes
  • {the pumpkin will be soft and peel away easily from the shell}
  • puree in small batches using a food processor
  • can be stored in an air tight container in the fridge, or in the freeze r{using a freezer storage bag}
