Pancakes, waffles, French toast… you get the idea.

Even when I bake with things other than butter, my spread of choice is butter every time.

Just between us, I may or may not  go through 2+ pounds of butter a week

This peanut butter and apple loaf is fall on a plate. Slightly sweet, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, this bread tastes like our favorite fall snack – apples dipped in peanut butter.  Hot from the oven with LAND O LAKES® Butter with Canola Oil all melty – it simply cannot be resisted. The smell alone is intoxicating.




For breakfast, lunch, or as an afterschool snack, this loaf is one of our new favorite fall recipes. 

For the bread – 

2 medium apples, finely diced or shredded

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tp baking powder

1 egg, lightly beaten

1/2 cup peanut butter

Spray bread pan with non-stick cooking spray

Toss the apples with the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt – set aside

Sift together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder, add to the apples.

Stir in the egg and peanut butter – the batter will be thick

Spread batter in pan, smooth the top, and bake for 45 – 55 minutes.

Cool in pan 5 minutes, then remove to rack to complete cooling.


I probably should have let mine cool longer, but I could not wait to dig in. I’m a fool for some hot bread and butter.
