{PB&J} Granola Bars

PB&J

not the healthiest of lunch choices
but it sure makes a tasty snack

these granola bars are a breeze to put together
and they are delicious
I was more than just a little bit impressed with myself  🙂

just like eating a pb&j sandwich

~recipe adapted from yummy mummy kitchen

For the bars:
2 cups of dry oats
1/4 cup of ground flax
1/2 cup of peanut butter
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of honey
1 stick of butter melted
1 egg white
jam

pre-heat the oven to 350F

combine all of the ingredients except the jam
mix thoroughly
press 2/3 of the oats into a greased 7 x 10 inch pan
cover the top with jam (about 1/2 cup – I didn’t really measure)
cover the jam with the remaining oats

bake for about 20 – 25 minutes

let cool completely before cutting

a perfect lunch box treat
