As fun as it would be, summer can’t be all  hot dogs, hamburgers, popsicles, and s’more pancakes. And as much as I love letting the kids have more food freedom, fruits and veggies do need to make an appearance. Even if I have to sneak them in when I can.

I have been making overnight oats for years, but it never occurred to me that I could use a smoothie instead of plain old milk. By using a smoothie I can sneak in fruits and veggies, nuts, even protein and the kids have no idea. overnight oats 4 ways

Ingredients

  • for each jar use -
  • 1/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup Bolthouse Farms smoothie or protein plus juice drink
  • topping choices - slivered almonds, sliced bananas, almond butter, chia seeds, sliced strawberries mango and pineapple chunks, shredded coconut

Instructions

  • in a jar add oats, and top with the juice or smoothie
  • cover, shake, and refrigerate overnight
  • before serving add your choice of toppings
