getting kids to eat veggies doesn’t have to be a struggle when they can dip in this delicious homemade ranch dressing
I thought getting toddlers to eat healthy was a struggle, but it doesn’t even compare to the struggle I have with my teen and tween.
They want fast food with their friends, sweets non-stop, soda, chips…
If it’s “junk” then chances are good that is what they want.
With all we have going on this summer – sports, vacations, and a move, we have spent a lot of time on the go, making healthy food even more difficult. But I decided that I wasn’t going to let the junk win.
This summer wherever we go, whether it’s the the water-park, the football field, dance studio, or multi-state road-trip I am bringing my little (or not so little as is really the case here) bag of tricks.
In my bag you will find –
towels, for impromptu water fun or picnicking
books, magazines, and my day planner for the time I spend waiting for kids activities to end – and let me tell you they never end on time
and most importantly snacks – currently in my bag we have Horizon Organic Sandwich Crackers in both cheese and peanut butter, snack grahams in cinnamon and chocolate, cheese sticks, cut up vegetables, and travel containers of homemade ranch dressing
if I want my kids to eat their veggies, I know the ranch is a must,
and to make sure it is as healthy as can be, I make my own. The kids have NO idea it’s not their favorite brand, and I have no plans to let them in on my little secret.

snacking on the go doesn’t have to be unhealthy to be fun

Methinks you live in Folsom so you are familiar with LaBou. If only someone could come up with a clone to their creamy dill dressing! You could be the one!
I do live in Folsom 🙂 and I have not had the LaBou creamy dill, but I’m on a mission now.
Woo Hoo!
You have given me a good reason to eat ranch dressing again. This is so light and delicious that even my son cannot tell the difference. Great recipe
thank you so much! my kids have no idea it’s not from the bottle
