Healthy Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix + Chocolate Ricotta
Healthy Hot Cocoa Mix is great for holiday gift giving and for making this easy and delicious
Healthy Chocolate Ricotta Dessert
I have been working really hard to eat healthy, or healthier at least.
Healthy is the new skinny right?
I do not enjoy counting calories. I do not enjoy having to think about every little thing I eat; it can make a girl a wee bit crazy. I do not enjoy having entire groups of food on the do not eat list. But I also do not enjoy those three less than little numbers on the scale.
I just need to make better food choices more often.
And with the holidays right around the corner, I’m combining a delicious healthy dessert idea, yes it is possible to have delicious and still low calorie desserts, with a great gift giving option Hot Cocoa Mix.
We love gifting hot cocoa mix. It’s easy to make, fun to wrap, and who doesn’t love a mug or two of hot cocoa on blistery winter evenings. I’m pretty sure my kids have given almost every one of their teachers mugs of hot cocoa mix for the holidays.
This year I’ve decided to make our go-to hot cocoa mix healthier.
You only need two ingredients –
I gave the sucanat a good pulse in the food processor before blending it with the cocoa. I also LOVE my cocoa with some spice so I add cinnamon and cayenne | both are optional but make a delicious hot cocoa mix.
To make the hot cocoa simply heat milk or milk alternative and stir in 2 Tbsp of cocoa mix for every 6 ounces of milk.
The hot coca mix also makes a DELISH healthy dessert.
With only 125 calories per serving, chocolate ricotta is a dessert you can feel good about enjoying. Use 1 Tbsp of your healthy hot cocoa mix and stir it into 1/4 cup of part skim ricotta.
Easy, delicious, and no guilt.
