healthy chocolate smoothie

I don’t mean to complain
this getting old thing, I don’t really think its for me.
I know, it beats the alternative, but seriously.
My wrinkles have wrinkles, and let me tell you I moisturize, obsessively.
Lately, I have seen a glimpse of a chin under my chin, that’s new.
My ankles crack and ache every time I get up, it’s not really all that fun.
Don’t even get me started with weight.
My scale and I are broken up, for good!
I’d say she was a big fat liar except that my pants are tight.
NO matter what I try, they are still tight.

SO, we try to move more, eat less, blah blah blah
drink less wine,
and nothing changes;
That can really piss a girl off.
And then the girl craves chocolate milkshakes, because that’s really going to help the situation.
But I refuse to let mother nature win.
This healthy chocolate smoothie is loaded with nothing but good stuff,
frozen banana for a smooth and creamy texture
dates for sweetness
almond milk and almond butter for a bit of protein, and it’s just plain delicious
cacao powder, and if you like, cacao nibs for topping
When you blend those all together, you end up with a creamy, delicious healthy chocolate smoothie that will cure any chocolate milkshake craving.
- 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 frozen banana, sliced
- 4 dates, pitted
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 3 tsp cacao powder
- place ingredients into blender jar
- blend until smooth
- top with cacao nibs (optional)
