say goodbye to boring lunches, these ham and pineapple + turkey apple cheddar wraps are sure to be a hit
I was feeling pretty good about my lunch packing skills this year. I had Stella’s list, planned ahead, and felt great everyday about what I’d pack. That lasted a whole 8 days. She’s already bored with her grilled sandwiches and yogurt with granola.
Leftovers like mac and cheese are great but with growing teens in the house, they are hard to come by. SO Stella and I headed to Safeway to stock up on as many items as we could think of that she would actually like.
We always end up with the basics like Tyson chicken nuggets and Hillshire Farm lunch meat, and also so MUCH fruit. Stella loves her fruit, and that is when I decided to add fruit to her wraps. She may be tired of sandwiches, but wraps she likes, and when they are loaded with fruit and some of the approved veggies from her list, we are back in lunch packing business.
I went with two classics, Hillshire Farm honey ham and swiss and Hillshire Farm roasted turkey and cheddar. To the ham and swiss I added lettuce, thinly sliced carrot, and pineapple. The turkey got some honey dijon, cheddar cheese, and thinly sliced apple.
We love Hillshire Farm lunch meats because they taste so tender and juicy. Not only are they slow roasted for hours, they’re also double-sealed for absolute freshness. Back-to-school season also means grabbing our favorite Tyson chicken nuggets, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and Ball Park Angus hot dogs, a crowd favorite!

What a great idea to add fruit to the wrap. I have the opposite problem where my daughter wants the same thing everyday. I am the one that is bored putting it together. I’ll have to see if I can get her to eat the turkey & apple one! Fingers crossed.
that was how stella started…same thing every day. but then she realized she was bored. She LOVES the fruit in her wrap (at least for now)
We are only 2 weeks into school, so my kids haven’t gotten bored with lunches…yet. I’m waiting for that to come next week. I should probably run to the store and stock up on wrap ingredients too. Those always get rave reviews. I love that you added fruit to yours too!
thanks Jocelyn! Stella took the same things nearly every day…because that was all she wanted. of course she got bored 🙂
