easy apple dumplings
I know you you can’t see it, but I am doing a happy dance.
Finals are over. School projects are completed, and school is OUT!!
FINALLY, we can breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the holiday season, well at least until we need to get packing.
This has been an incredibly busy holiday season, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, and we are going to celebrate with a good old fashioned movie night.
Popcorn has been popped, pizza dip is in the slow cooker, the fire is blazing, and I am stocked up with everyone’s favorite drinks.
Why not stockpile? I got A&W®, 7UP®, Canada Dry®, Sunkist®, SUN DROP®, RC Cola®, Squirt® at my local Walmart for only $1.00!
but you can’t have a movie night without the movies, and VUDU has you covered. Browse their HUGE selection, and then buy or rent your favorites and movie night is ON!
Even better, for the month of December, when you purchase (10) 2-liters or (5) 0.5L 6packs at Walmart you will receive a $5 VUDU credit (see all the details here)
Something else the Kinnaird family has to have on movie nights is dessert. It doesn’t matter how many great snacks we have, dessert is a must for my gang.
And with my stock of 7UP® I figured it was time to make easy apple dumplings.
- 1 granny smith apple
- 1 tube of crescent roll dough
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 6 oz. 7Up
- heat oven to 350 degrees
- peel, core, and slice apple into 8 wedges
- unroll and separate crescent rolls
- place one apple wedge on each crescent, and roll up
- place rolls in a small baking dish
- whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon
- pout over the top of the apple rolls
- finally pour 7UP over the top
- bake dumplings for 35 minutes
- serve with ice cream
