You all should know by know how I feel about my carbs. Love ’em, gotta have ’em.

It seems that I have passed that on to my kids as well, especially Stella, and especially for breakfast. If there isn’t some form of bread at the table, then the meal is not complete. Of course in Stella’s case, it better be a sweet bread; who can blame her.

Believe it or not, she actually is a very healthy eater, fussy or not. Her breakfast and lunch consist mainly of fruits and veggies with some yogurt or cheese added to the mix, so I don’t mind baking up a sweet breakfast treat every now and then, and it is a treat.

And when the treat is this easy to pull together, well that’s even better.

Pull apart bread was one of my favorites last fall. I made apple, berry, even pumpkin. The refrigerated biscuits are what makes the loaves SO  easy. No yeast, no rising, just slice, layer, and bake.

With fall right around the corner, I have been craving fall flavors like apples and cinnamon; I’m not quite ready to embrace all the pumpkin things yet, but I’m sure that’s coming as well.

The apple pull-apart loaf from last year was good; really good.  This year I super charged the sweetness by replacing the biscuits with cinnamon rolls. It’s hard to argue with all that glazy {I think I just made up a word} goodness. Like I said, it’s a breakfast treat, and if you are going to treat yourself, you may as well do it right.

*DO make sure you check the loaf for doneness before diving in. All ovens vary slightly, and the baking time will be affected by the thickness of the apple slices, I use VERY thin slices. My loaf was completely cooked through at 40 minutes. If the top is browning too much and the inside is still doughy, cover loosely with foil and continue to bake another 5 – 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • pre-heat the oven to 350
  • spray a loaf pan with cooking spray
  • slice cinnamon rolls in half
  • alternate cinnamon roll and apple slices - beginning and ending with cinnamon roll
  • bake 40 - 50 minutes {cover loosely with foil if the loaf is getting too brown on top}
  • cool ten minutes and then frost
