better than having cookies for breakfast! these cardamom snickerdoodle muffins are the perfect fall breakfast

as soon as autumn arrives i crave all things cinnamon. cinnamon candles burn in every room. i buy trader joe’s cinnamon brooms in bulk, and snickerdoodles replace chocolate chip as our weekly batch of cookies. much to stella’s dismay cookies do not make an acceptable breakfast food, but these cardamom snickerdoodle muffins make¬† a delicious compromise.

the start of the school year has not exactly gone as smoothly as i would have liked. life has been hectic, but i finally feel like things are calming down a bit. home projects have taken a back seat for the last little while, but ian and i are getting back into the swing of things. basketball still rules our evening schedule. meal times may change from day to day, but i feel like family dinner has returned to the kinnaird house.

mornings are still a work in progress.¬† with the days growing shorter and shorter, it is harder and harder to get everyone up. i get it, who wants to get up when it looks like the middle of the night outside? not me that’s for sure. breakfast has got to be fast.
