caramel apple smoothie
caramel apples are one of the beat parts of fall, and this carmal apple smoothie has got all the great flavor of a caramel apple minus the stick and the mess
I’m not sure how it happens.
I’m up at 6, kids up at 6:30, out the door by 7:20, back home from the school carpool at 8:30, and then somehow, miraculously I turn around and it is 2:15 and almost time to start the afternoon carpool.
Between the housework, the errands, and the emails, I don’t like to spend too much time on meals for myself during the day.
But I do NOT do well skipping meals either, so smoothies are something I make almost daily.
For breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon snack, smoothies like this caramel apple smoothie are a great quick option, and I love using up the bits and pieces from the pantry and fridge.
Greek yogurt and almond milk add protein, frozen banana adds plenty of sweetness and creates a thick and creamy texture. The apple comes from apple butter, but apple sauce would be great as well. The idea is to use what you have. And because I LOVE caramel apples, I added just a small bit of caramel extract and then topped the smoothie with caramel sauce and cinnamon.
What could be better than enjoying a healthy caramel apple for breakfast…I can’t think of anything.
