Baked Apple {sundae} with Salted Caramel Sauce

Hi, I’m Heather from French Press, and I’m so excited to be posting here today.
While I have always LOVED being in the kitchen, I’m pretty new to the world of blogging.
 ~but it’s been SO much fun!

September is here at last, and that means fall weather is just around the corner.
It’s hard to think of fall and not think of apple treats, and while it’s still a bit too hot for baking an apple pie, baked apples with ice cream seemed a perfect compromise.

I’ve never actually baked an apple before, but it sounded good.
Filled with ice cream…even better
Topped with salted caramel sauce…perfection.

For the apples:
core and clean out all seeds leaving enough room for a scoop {or two}
fill each apple with 2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp of cinnamon and
1/2 tbsp butter

place the apples in a baking dish and fill with boiling water (coming up a little past halfway up the apple)
bake @375 for about 40 minutes

allow to cool slightly
fill with ice cream
top with salted caramel sauce {recipe here}

I am totally looking forward to baking pies and cider doughnuts; hopefully the weather will cooperate soon:)
