Today, finally the weather is beginning to feel like fall.

We actually got rain today, and not just a sprinkle. A real rain, puddles and all. It seems like it has been forever since we had rain, and I could not have been more excited for the change. I even got up early, took my coffee onto the back deck, and sat enjoying the piece, quiet, and the cool wind that comes right before the rain starts.

Today is also exactly three months until Christmas.

Probably the three busiest months of the year, at least for me. With Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, plus a few birthdays in the mix,  it feels like one LONG stretch of planning, parties, and shopping.

But I found my new favorite go-to party food, and it could NOT be simpler.

Bacon Wrapped Blue Cheese Stuffed Pears


  • Bosc Pears, halved and cored - plan on 1/2 pear per person
  • Blue Cheese, crumbed - 1 Tbsp per pear half
  • Bacon - 1 slice per pear half


  • pre-heat the oven to 400
  • line a rimmed baking sheet with foil
  • place 1 Tbsp blue cheese into each pear
  • wrap bacon around pear - the sides should overlap
  • place pears, cut side up on baking sheet
  • bake 20 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and cooked through
  • serve warm

The pears make great party appetizers, and can be prepped ahead of time, meaning you get to spend more time with your guests and out of the kitchen.

The leftovers highly unlikely are delicious when added to a bed of  mixed greens for lunch or light supper. Or not so light supper in my case #Iateallthepears
