Nutella, Peanut Butter, and Banana stuffed French Toast Waffles
Please tell me I’m not the only one that dreams about food. I wish I could blame it on the blog, but I have pretty much always been this way. I probably should take a notebook to bed, cause I can get pretty creative when it’s late.
Last night especially, the food ideas were floating ALL about, so much so I could not fall asleep. First thing this morning I was knee deep in nutella and peanut butter.
I WISH the pictures looked as good as it tasted. Oh my!
Now I know this is not going to be a daily breakfast, but every once in a while it’s okay to indulge a bit.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread per waffle
- banana {about 1/4 per waffle}
- nutella
- peanut butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- heat your waffle iron
- whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon
- spread one slice of bread with peanut butter, and one with nutella,
- sandwich the banana slices in between
- close sandwich, and dip in the egg mixture[both sides}
- place on the waffle iron, cooking until golden brown {about 2 - 4 minutes}
- *just make sure that the egg is cooked
The waffle is sweet on it’s own, but a little powdered sugar is always nice.
Enjoy!

Not a daily breakfast?! Say it ain’t so this would make me happy every morning!
well, I certainly could eat it every day 🙂 but I know I shouldn’t
I do my best thinking at night and in the shower! I can see why you couldn’t sleep! Holy yum!
isn’t that strange, I can have a total block during the day, but as soon as I get to bed, the ideas flood in 🙂
What a breakfast! So neat that you did bread in a waffle iron … bananas, pb, and nutella are a combo no one will pass up!
I love using my waffle iron 🙂 no flippng
Oh my goodness, the photos look amazing so I can only dream of how great they taste! I cannot wait to try this recipe. Thank goodness for Pinterest and for you sharing this recipe. : )
wow, thanks so much!
This recipe did not work for me. Totally fell apart. The bread sticks to the waffle iron and you get a big mess.
sorry to hear that – my waffle iron typically does not stick, but you may want to lightly butter it before using. We make french toast in our all the time

This destroyed my waffle iron. I think it will take all day to clean it. Sandwiches COMPLETELY fell apart and just “melted” into the little grids. What a disaster. I then re-cooked it on a skillet and it worked. Try that or a griddle. DO NOT USE THE WAFFLE IRON.
I’m sorry yours fell apart, but I did not have that problem at all – maybe it was the bread you used
