I often share little bits about my kids, what they’re up to and more often what they are eating (this is a food blog after all);  I’ve even shared a bit about our adoption experience

School is something I don’t usually talk about, but for us it is a big deal. Both Charlie and Stella struggle in school. Each in different ways, but to say it doesn’t come easy would be an understatement, and that is not for a lack of trying.

Charlie and Stella both work so hard, many nights spending 3+ hours on homework, only to not do as well as they hoped. It can be so frustrating, and as a parent I want to see them rewarded for their hard work.

Our school has played a HUGE part in helping them to feel successful. Mrs Phillips, our principal, is one of the most dedicated educators I have ever known, and even though we have more than 1500 students in our middle school, she knows them ALL by name, and makes each one feel important to her and to the school.

The teachers that both Charlie and Stella have, made themselves available to us, by phone, by email, after-school, pretty much when we need them, they are there.

Charlie graduating from Sutter Middle School

The teachers and administration at Sutter are a large part of Charlie’s success.

Our school is OLD, and is in NEED of updating in almost every area, but what they have provided to my children is priceless to us.

Schedule changes so that Stella can take art, extra test prep so they can feel successful, and teachers that go out of their way to send an email just to say how well your kid is doing…these are all things just as valuable as newer computers and additional classrooms.

BUT I know my school needs the computers, and the updating, so I nominated them to win $1000 worth of Tyson Project A+™ labels

The kids are also happily snacking on  Popcorn Chicken- Any’tizers® snacks, and our favorite Homestyle Chicken Fries – Any’tizers® snacks   Tyson Any’tizers® are all white meat, protein-packed snacks, they’re easy to prepare, and are just the fuel the kids need to get through homework time.

I make sure to stock up on my supplies for the week at Walmart. The kids go through snacks like you wouldn’t believe, and once the packages are empty, I snip the labels, and for every label collected, Sutter receives 24 cents to use towards whatever they need. Every little bit helps, and we are helping our school that does so much to help its students.
