Chocolate Popcorn

chocolate popcorn

Does your family have a favorite snack?

Our go-to
is definitely popcorn.

Now, I may be biased by the fact that
my husband’s family grows, and sends us,
the BEST popping corn on the planet.

{Uncle Randy’s farm also happens to be Charlie’s idea of heaven on earth}

but…I have a feeling we’d love it no matter what.

Movie night just isn’t the same without popcorn.

It’s another dreary day here,
and I think my kiddos need almost as much cheering up
as I do.

Not sure why, but this feels like a VERY LONG week.

So…after the homework is complete – we will be enjoying a movie
{that is if I can get my two lovely children to agree}
and this delicious chocolate popcorn
{chocolate is my mood enhancer of choice}

made festive with some holiday m&m minis:)

Chocolate Popcorn:
1/2 cup of popping corn
2 tbsp of canola oil
1/4 cup of good quality cocoa powder
2 cups of mini marshmallows
salt to taste

in a large saucepan
heat the oil  over med- med high heat
add three kernels to the pan and cover
when these pop, remove from the heat, add the rest of the corn
cover and shake the pan
return to the heat
the kernels should begin popping almost immediately
as soon as they stop, remove from the heat
stir in the marshmallows and the cocoa, and
continue to stir until the marshmallows are melted
season with salt

spread the popped corn on a lined cookie sheet to cool
once cool stir in a cup of mini m&m candies

I’m pretty sure the kids are going to flip over this snack.
Just wish us luck choosing the movie
