Cherry Crisp


I LOVE fruit desserts;

much more than chocolate,

but my pies leave MUCH to be desired.

Sure, they taste great,
but my crust needs work.
{a lot of work}

I don’t particularly enjoy doing things that I’m not good at,
so we don’t get  pie that often.

Crisp, on the other hand, is SO easy,
that I cannot figure out why  we don’t have it more.

Everyone loves it,
it comes together in a jiff,
and it’s pretty much fool proof.

This cherry crisp is adapted from Tasty Kitchen
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
1 stick of salted butter {cut into 1 tbsp size pieces}
1/2 cup of oats

Cherries ~
48 oz frozen cherries
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of cornstarch

combine the flour, sugars, cinnamon and nutmeg
cut in the butter {until you have course crumbs}
finally stir in the oats

add the sugar and cornstarch to the frozen cherries
stir until the cherries are coated

place the cherries in a 2 qt baking dish
cover with the crumb topping
bake @ 350 for about 50 minutes
{top will be golden and the juices bubbling}

serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
