cheesy peanut butter popcorn
make move night at home a hit with this cheesy peanut butter popcorn
Now that the kids are back in school, finding family time can be a bit difficult. With sports, homework, friends, and school activities, Ian and I fall pretty far down the priority list. We still try to have dinner together as often as possible, but the kids are usually rushing to get back out the door.
At least once a month we try and plan a family movie night. We’ll order a pizza, gather our favorite snacks including this cheesy peanut butter popcorn, and pick up a fun movie like Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, (available in Walmart stores 9/12) we can all enjoy. I cannot wait for fall because movie night around the fire is pretty much one of my favorite things to do.
This cheesy peanut butter popcorn is based on the kids favorite school snack, Lance Toast Chee sandwich crackers. I always have them in my bag on trips, and once school starts they are pretty much a staple in the lunch/snack bags. There’s just something so delicious about the sweet, salty, cheesy, peanut butter combination.
Lance has been making little sandwiches for over 100 years. My kids love them because of the two awesome crackers on the outside and the delicious spreads in between. I love that they are made with real peanut butter or real cheese between crispy baked crackers. With up to 5 grams of protein and no high fructose corn syrup, Lance sandwich crackers are a delicious and wholesome snack perfect for snacking on-the-go or for snacking on during family movie night.
Movie night isn’t the same without the popcorn, and cheesy peanut butter popcorn is about to become your new favorite movie snack. Start with two bags of Pop Secret popcorn. I love the homestyle variety; it has a great butter taste and makes a delicious, high-quality snack that i can feel good about feeding my family. The kettle corn would also be so good mixed with the peanut butter.
After the bags are popped, add 2 Tbsp cheddar cheese popcorn seasoning to the first bag, and then add 2 Tbsp powdered peanut butter to the second bag. Close bags tightly, shake, pour into a large bowl and dig in! Walmart made this family movie night easy and a hit even with the teens.
