Brownie spider web Pizza

this brownie spider web pizza is a super easy and fun Halloween treat

Sometimes, things just work out perfectly.

For example,  you find this super cute, super easy Halloween dessert idea at Pillsbury, and then minutes later your daughter runs in the house  at 4:00 screaming something about forgetting to tell you she volunteered to bring dessert to the class party …TOMORROW

and you think to yourself, no biggie I got this

A quick trip to the store, 25 minutes in the oven, and BAM

mom’s the hero

I love when that happens

Not having much notice, I used Pillsbury  brownie mix and vanilla frosting. If you have a go-to recipe for both, go for it.

Melted chocolate chips mixed with just a bit of oil make the perfect web, and a Reese’s peanut butter cup with chocolate Twizzlers legs make a less than scary spider to complete  the web.

I’m not much of a dessert decorator, but I think it’s pretty darn cute, and start to finish was done in less than an hour.

Brownie spider web Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 package of brownie mix, I used Pillsbury family size fudge brownie mix
  • 2/3 cup plus 1 teaspoon vegetable oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 can of vanilla frosting
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 Twizzlers - chocolate or black licorice
  • 1 Reese's peanut butter cup

Instructions

  • pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees
  • grease a 9 inch spring form pan, a pizza pan would work as well
  • prepare the brownie mix according to the package directions
  • spread batter in the prepared pan, and bake 25 minutes
  • allow to cool before frosting
  • once cooled, frost
  • melt the chocolate chips with the remaining 1 tsp oil
  • place chocolate in a plastic zip top bag, and knead until very smooth
  • cut a very small corner off the bag, and pipe the chocolate on the frosting in a spiral web
  • starting in the center of the web, drag a toothpick lightly down through the chocolate to finish the web look
  • lay the four Twizzlers on the frosting to form the legs (making a wide x shape), and secure the peanut butter cup using a dab of frosting, upside-down, in the center of the x to form the spiders body
