I really don’t know what happened.
How did it get to be the end of July already?
My summer bucket list still has MUCH to be accomplished, and I am determined to cross everything off of our list. That means we we will be on the go from now until school starts.
{hmmmm…sounds s bit like last year I think}
To make mornings a bit less stressful, I like to have breakfast ready for the kids to grab when they are ready to eat.
Stella likes to eat as soon as her feet hit the ground, and Charlie is a bit more leisurely. I am NOT making breakfast twice,
but, seeing as it is summer, I like to make it fun.
These waffle doughnuts are definitely fun.
Biscuit dough takes out all of the prep, and using the waffle iron bakes them in less than a minute.
A quick butter bath, and a shower of cinnamon and brown sugar, breakfast is done, and the kids can help themselves.
Ingredients
- 1 tube of Buttermilk Biscuits {I used Pillsbury Simply Buttermilk Biscuits}
- 4 Tbsp butter melted
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- pre-heat the waffle iron
- combine the sugar and cinnamon
- divide each biscuit into 4 - and gently shape into a ball
- place 4 balls of dough on the waffle iron {this may vary depending on the size iron you have - mine makes two large square waffles}
- close and cook for about a minute - you don't want them to get too dark
- dip in the melted butter and toss into the cinnamon and sugar
- repeat for the remaining dough
FYI…kids eat more fruit when doughnuts are provided:)
Enjoy!
Breakfast on the go options:
Biscoff and Nutella Banana Bread
Heather my bucket list will go unfinished for sure! The summers always slip away so quickly! I love the way you think about breakfast! These are such a fun idea!
