I LOVE salad.

Like I could eat salad twice a day, every day, and never get bored.

But I have a problem…

I like  my salads with cheese,

a lot of cheese,

and my favorite dressing is blue cheese.

NOT exactly the healthiest way to eat a salad.

Did you know that one ounce {like that’s all I use} packs a whopping 133 calories and 14 grams of fat. Doesn’t make for a very nutritious salad now does it?

Oh, but it’s SO good!

I’m not one to give up my favorites, but I do try to make healthier choices, so I experimented with  my new fave Greek yogurt.

WOW, was I surprised.  You would never know the difference.  This dressing is SO creamy and  full of flavor that you would never guess there was anything healthy about it.


Greek yogurt Blue Cheese Dressing

  • 4 ounces of crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup of non-fat Greek style yogurt {I used Chobani 0%plain}
  • 1 small clove of garlic {minced well}
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 - 2 tsp white balsamic vinegar
  • salt/pepper to taste


  • in the bowl of a food processor blend the blue cheese, the yogurt, and the garlic
  • {pulse a few times}
  • add in the lemon juice {and pulse a few times}
  • add the vinegar { 1 tsp at a time - to get the desired taste and consistency}
  • pulse
  • season to taste with the salt and pepper
  • store covered in the refrigerator
